This was my first showcase-related project where we were to establish a new showcase area that matched the corporate strategy of "8K technology + 8 application lifestyles". Our product was for education and without any doubt, we were being assigned to manage the "smart education" booth.
Our company's conventional style was to display products on the desk with a display showing introductory videos. Therefore, the place was usually just full of all sizes of display. (I'm not kidding!)
The showcase area was also an unspoken battlefield of 16 business groups. Executives from all the groups would walk around and secretly competed with one another.
We wanted to the tradition and play something fun. We ordered a big backdrop as the scenario background and utilized a lot of classroom furniture to create the "school" scene. With the help of the background story, the audience could easily understand that we were not just showing a product but a solution.
We did stand out among all the other groups not only because of how awesome our booth decoration was but also we were able to catch audiences' attention and impress them in a very short time with the demo.
To be honest, I probably practiced and streamlined my speech a hundred times. We showed the best features in just a few slides, speaking with confidence and showing our passions toward the solutions.
Through the opportunities, I have presented to several government officials and well-know business leaders who have definitely trained me to become a better public speaker. I also learned that we should never constrain ourselves in the comfort zone, step out and be the unicorn!
